Canada and Colorado have more in common that just Molson-Coors and our mutual love of hockey. In 2013, Colorado and Canada assessed more than $6.1 billion in bilateral merchandise trade, with nearly 77% of all the state’s exports heading directly north to Alberta. Much of this mutual economic prosperity can be attributed to the success of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), which, in 2014, celebrates 20 years.

Join the City Club of Denver, in partnership with World Denver, in welcoming the Consul General of Canada, Marcy Grossman as she discusses the future of North American competitiveness and explores the role of energy, agriculture and trade in the economic success of Canada’s relationship with the United States and Colorado.

About Consul General Marcy Grossman

Marcy Grossman joined the Consulate General of Canada in Denver in June 2012. As Canada's Consul General in Denver, Ms. Grossman oversees a team of 17 people who work within Colorado, Kansas, Montana, Utah and Wyoming to strengthen trade and economic ties; enhance political, academic and cultural links; and assist Canadians visiting or living in the four-state Rocky Mountain region.

She has served abroad as the Senior Trade Commissioner with the Consulate General in Dallas, Texas, from 2002 to 2005, where she and her team closed several large-scale investment deals of mutual benefit for Canada and Texas. Following this position, she had the honour of being Canada's Consul General in Miami, Florida, from 2005 to 2009, where in addition to providing important consular services to Canadian citizens, she developed business opportunities, and political, cultural and academic relationships throughout Florida, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Most recently she served as the Deputy Consul General and Senior Trade Commissioner at the Consulate General of Canada in Los Angeles, from September 2009 to June 2012, where she strengthened Canada-U.S. relations in a dynamic territory that covers Southern California, Arizona, New Mexico and Nevada.
