The City Club of Denver invites you to join us for the following presentation:
Susana Cordova - Superintendent of Denver Public Schools
Susana Cordova will give an update on current issues at Denver Public Schools, her first year as Superintendent, and her goals for the District moving forward. She will reflect on the teacher’s strike that took place early last year, the recent Board elections, and her responses and forecasts related to these events.
Susana Cordova brings nearly 30 years of experience in DPS elementary, middle, and high schools to her position as Superintendent. She believes in the power of our schools to transform our city, and has worked on several key projects at DPS, including the Teacher Leadership and Collaboration project, educator effectiveness systems, the creation of district-wide shared core values programming, and redesigning district-wide programs for English language learners.
Cordova received her undergraduate degree from the University of Denver and a master's degree in education from the University of Colorado. She is a life-long resident of Denver and a proud graduate of Abraham Lincoln High School.
